Post Mold Remediation Inspection And Clearance

Our duty at Rapid Response Mold Testing during the Post Mold Remediation process of a project is to ensure that our client’s mold remediation job is completed correctly.

On your mold remediation project, one of our Licensed Mold Assessment Consultants will perform the final check. We will sign a Mold Certificate for the customer once we deem the project complete and successful.

Clearance Testing Review

Clearance testing includes visual assessments of mold problems in the remediation process and sample collection/analysis in that specified area.

The purpose of Clearance Testing is also to determine if mold problems still exist in the sampled remediation areas.

The results of the Clearance testing consequently are not the guarantee that the mold exists or does not exist in the house; the results show only whether the mold is present or not in the sampled areas when the clearance test is carried out. The results are not guaranteed.

When remediation and clean-up efforts are finished but before containment is removed, testing will be done.

What is the average cost for mold remediation?

As part of our commitment to make the planet a better place to live, we are also working to ensure that we provide our customers with a reliable and environmentally friendly service.

Our team of certified testers & analysts are trained for Post Mold Remediation Inspection and Clearance.

What is the Purpose of a Post Remediation Mold Clearance Inspection?

The aim of mold clearance inspections is to ensure that mold cleanup has been performed correctly and effectively in the work area and to verify that the cleanup does not accidentally distribute high dust and debris to other building areas or mechanical devices, such as heating systems or air conditioning systems.

We test for mold after a mold remediation, to check mold contamination by inspecting areas that did not form part of the mold cleanup work.

Upon demolition and cleaning and prior to removal of the containment structures clearance inspection and testing will be carried out.

Mold Inspection Clearance will cover visual inspection of the building in case of active leaks or residual wet areas, visual cleanliness of both the remediated areas and other cross-contaminated building areas.

We determine the degree of removal and cleaning of contaminated materials/areas visually with a microscopic analysis on the soil, dust, air of the assets.

  1. Visual restoration inspection & cleaning thoroughness.
  2. Mold screening checks for successful work area cleaning.
  3. Cross-contamination mold evaluation tests outside of the work area.
  4. Condition of general property.
  5. Laboratory analysis of samples.

Visual restoration inspection & cleaning thoroughness.

A visual inspection of both the cleaned area and other parts of the building is carried out. We want to know that demolition was enough in the clean-up area and that there are no moldy materials left, and that all surfaces appear to have been physically cleaned up. If a fungicidal sealant was to be applied, we want to see that instead of first cleaning those surfaces, it was not simply sprayed on top of the mold and dirt or debris.

Mold screening checks for successful work area cleaning.

We will collect samples of physical surfaces that still appear to be moldy or dirty, and collect at least one dust-sample of settling surfaces from the cleaned area on each main surface if all surfaces are clean. Many research samples may also be obtained by air or vacuum sampling. But please be aware; air sampling alone is not a reliable way to test problems in a house.

Cross-contamination mold evaluation tests outside of the work area.

In addition to the remediation segment, we collect testing samples of suspect surfaces, settled dust, vacuum and/or air in evaluation in the building and paying close attention to areas or equipment such as HVAC systems, for example. That are particularly vulnerable to inadequate measures of dust containment during cleanup.

Condition of general property.

We also disclose continued conditions that further expose the building to further risk of a new mold problem, including failure to fix different causes, water intake and high humidity.

Laboratory analysis of samples.

Our conclusion on the cleanliness levels expressed by the fungal samples is focused on the pre-remedial and post- remedial properties of many existing studies of buildings pollution and contrast with the original level of contamination.

When to Schedule Mold Remediation Inspection

A building inspection and testing to confirm that a mold remediation work has been carried out appropriately should not be authorized until:

  1. Once all clearing, mold removal and mold surface cleanup have been completed by the mold remediation company.
  2. After correction by the mold remediation company of the processes linked to the mold problem.
  3. Before the remediation area is re-occupied by people at higher risks from building concerns about air quality such as asthma, elderly, immune, infants, etc.
  4. The building should remain in still-air conditions: with the windows and doors closed to the outside.
  5. Before the mold remediation operation, containment barriers should be removed. This allows the inspector to evaluate the deployment, completeness, failure or collapse of the containment system.

The minimum time we want to allow airborne dirt and debris settled in a building prior to actually performing a mold testing evaluation for air or surface dust after mold remediation is 24 hour in still-air conditions. Nothing less than 24 hours of still air time is required.

What is a Post Mold Remediation Clearance Test?

It is strongly recommended that a Post Remediation Clearance Check be carried out after the mold remediation process has been completed and the mold has been eliminated from the contaminated area entirely. Our staff will visit the project area and visually inspect the area treated.

In various areas of the property, we will also perform a moisture test using Infrared Technology to ensure moisture is not present in the areas being remediated.

Why Do I need a Post Mold Remediation Clearance Test?

Post mold remediation clearance tests focus on different evaluations that help to determine the presence of mold in the various areas and whether a mold rehabilitation project has been successful. When the samples are sent to the laboratory it is possible to determine if the dangerous mold levels are in the project area or not. The exact results can, therefore, be determined.

What Does A Post Remediation Evaluation Involve?

A post-remediation evaluation (sometimes known as clearance testing) includes visual inspection of building materials and moisture assessment of the work area and air quality testing.

Both are needed to properly evaluate whether remediation of the mold has been successful or not.

Clearance checks are intended to determine the effectiveness of mold remediation activities inside existing containment areas in order to record areas that are remedied so that occupants can enter safely.

Our post-mold Remediation clearance check protocol includes:

  1. First of all, we inspect areas that were treated during the process of mold remediation. This helps us to know whether Mold growth has completely wiped out the whole area.
  2. In areas such as walls, our Mold Inspectors team pays careful attention. We search for leaks, water spots on the wall, holes or gaps or outside the house. This is due to the high risk of mold contamination in such areas.
  3. Once we have visually accessed areas, we check for moisture with Infrared technology, which may be responsible for the growth of mold.
  4. In areas where there is a lack of ventilation and fresh air and a high amount of moisture, mold is more likely to occur.
  5. Which is why we ensure which we look carefully at all hidden places. We closely inspect your ventilation system, air cooling / heater systems, damp filters, as well as different areas to ensure that only the slightest signs of mold growth are detected.
  6. Air Cassette samples are then taken by our licensed technical expert, both inside and outside the property and sent to an independent testing facility. Each visible sign of Mold is swabbed and also sent to our laboratory.
  7. We conduct a moisture check of all areas tested and thoroughly document our results.
  8. All of our customers’ issues or problems are addressed by our licensed specialist.
  9. Upon receiving test results from the laboratory typically one to two working days later, we will contact the customer to see what the results are and what needs to be done if any.

Our Mold Inspection Procedure:

  1. Our mold inspection service in NYC begins with our team visiting your property and thoroughly inspecting all areas. If we detect the obvious signs of mold growth and thoroughly document these areas.
  2. Areas such as behind the walls are given special attention by our mold inspectors unit. We search for leaks, signs of water infiltration, cracks or holes, or bleached walls. This is because these areas are highly susceptible to mold pollution.
  3. Upon visual access to these areas, we verify the presence of moisture using infrared technology, which could lead to mold growth. In places where air and fresh air is lacking, and a high humidity content, mold is more likely to occur. Therefore we take care to carefully investigate these areas.
  4. The ventilation system, air cooling/heating device, damp filters and different areas are carefully examined to ensure that even smaller signs of mold growth are detected.
  5. Air Cassette samples are then taken by our licensed technician both inside and outside the property and sent to a different laboratory for examination. Any visual Mold signs are also disinfected and processed in our laboratory.
  6. We will verify the moisture of all fields examined and thoroughly record the results.
  7. All of our customers’ issues or problems are addressed by our licensed specialist.
  8. Upon receiving test results from the laboratory typically one to two working days later, we will contact the customer to see what the results are and what needs to be done if any.

What Is The Difference Between Mold Removal And Mold Remediation?

Abatement means the action of abating or being abated; ending or subsiding. Mold Abatement, with that definition, means ending mold or subsiding mold from your home or business. Remediation means the action of remedying something, in particular reversing or preventing damage to the environment.

Is It OK To Live In A House With Mold?

Hazards from mold growing in your house: signs of the respiratory tract, including coughing, wheezing and throat swelling. There is a special danger for those with asthma and allergy issues.

Will Mold Die If It Dries Out?

Mold spores never really die because if new moisture is available they can still start growing again at a later time. Windows are also a major area in which you can monitor when the mold begins to grow around your windows.

What Temperature Should You Keep Your House To Prevent Mold?

In cold environments, mold generally does not grow. Warm, wet conditions are ideal for the growth of molds. Most molds need to grow at or above a temperature of 70 ° F (20 °C). Air conditioners can help prevent mold growth by regulating your house temperature.

What Type Of Cancer Does Mold Cause?

Mold spores also produce toxins that can directly affect the lungs, skin and nervous system (Mycotoxins). We do not, however, have definitive evidence that mold spores cause cancer of the lungs.

Why is a Clearance Mold Inspection after a Mold Remediation so Important?

Mold is known to have a bio-pollution that needs skilled remediation under adequate air filtration and containment.

Can Mold Come Back After Remediation?

Usually mold problems are resolved after a certified contractor receives a professional mold remediation service alongside repair services for the underlying causes of the infestation. But for the mold to return later, it’s still possible.
